Based in Stocksfield, Northumberland - Tom and Di Harrison, founders of Moralee Herefords, have firmly established their herd as one of the most successful and respected pedigree Hereford operations in the United Kingdom. 

 

Founded in 2011 at Eltringham Farm in the Tyne Valley, Moralee Herefords began as a small-scale venture, chosen for the Hereford breed's practicality and ease of management. 

Drawing on strong agricultural roots - reflected in the herds name, which originates from Di Harrison's family farm - the enterprise has grown into a highly regarded breeding program producing top-quality cattle for both pedigree and commercial markets. 

 

Today the Harrisons manage a herd of approximately 30 pedigree Hereford cows, alongside a growing number of youngstock. Their cattle are marketed through private sales and leading UK pedigree auctions, where Moralee genetics have consistently attracted strong demand. The business also supplies premium Hereford beef directly to consumers through its popular beef box scheme. 

 

Moralee Herefords has achieved significant recognition on the national stage, including multiple titles as National Hereford Show Herd of the Year.  The herd has secured numerous championships at major agricultural shows such as the Royal Highland, Great Yorkshire, and Northumberland County Shows. 

 

Among its standout achievements, Moralee bred cattle have gained both national and international acclaim. Notable animals include Moralee 1 Big Time, which made headlines after selling for a record 22,000 guineas and being named UK Polled Hereford Bull of the Year 2025. 

 

The Harrisons' breeding philosophy centres on genetic excellence, performance, and careful selection of both sire and dam lines. Through the use of advanced breeding techniques, including embryo transfer, Moralee Herefords continues to produce cattle that excel in the show ring while meeting the demands of commercial beef production. 

 

In addition to their breeding success, Tom and Di Harrison are active supporters of the wider Hereford community, contributing to youth developement initiatives and promoting the breed both in the UK and internationally.
